I know I’m on academic warning, but do I have to participate in the ARK Program?
Yes. To support your academic recovery, University policy requires all students on academic warning to participate in the program by receiving bi-weekly emails. If you have questions about your standing, please contact the Students First Office.
Who will contact me about participating in the ARK Program?
At the end of each semester, the University Registrar’s Office notifies all students on Academic Warning about their current academic standing and the need to participate in the ARK Program. This notification is sent to your UNCG email account. At the start of the next semester, you will begin receiving ARK bi-weekly emails. If at any time you have questions about your participation, reach out to us via phone, email, or in person.
Where do I go if I have questions about the ARK Program?
The Students First Office is here to support you in your academic recovery. Assistance is available by phone and in-person appointments. You may also email [email protected] for questions pertaining to the ARK program.
When does the ARK Program begin?
The ARK Program begins in the first week of the semester and will continue throughout the semester with bi-weekly emails.
What are the requirements for the ARK Program?
The only requirement of the ARK program is to review the bi-weekly emails you will receive. These emails will provide helpful information and offer campus resources. To learn more details about the program requirements, visit the ARK Program page on the SFO website.
I completed all of the ARK Program requirements but am concerned about my academic standing. How do I determine what my Academic Standing will be?
As a student on Academic Warning, you are expected to restore Academic Good Standing or meet the terms of your warning status.
- If you earn 67% of your hours and your GPA remains above a 2.0 then you will be back in Good Standing!
- If your GPA remains above a 2.0 but you did not earn 67% of your hours – you will be on Academic Warning again next semester
- If you completed 67% of your hours but your GPA will fall below a 2.0 then you will be on Academic Probation
