The Spring 2020 Academic Relief Package will allow students to opt in to the following grade choices once final grades are posted in UNCGenie at the end of the term:

Satisfactory Only permitted for eligible courses in which you have earned a C- or above

Only permitted for eligible courses in which you have earned a D+ or below
WEWithdrawal ExemptOnly permitted for eligible courses that you have withdrawn from (or intend to withdraw from) between March 10-June 1.

Additionally, instructors can also assign students an Incomplete (I) grade at their discretion.

How to use the Academic Relief GPA Calculator?

The calculator below will help you determine how opting in to SA/US, WE, or I grades will impact your term GPA and cumulative GPA.

To use this calculator you will need to know your Cumulative GPA and your GPA Hours. This information is available to you by logging into the secure area of UNCGenie and clicking on the "Student" tab.

To view your Cumulative GPA and GPA Hours:

  • Go to the main UNCGenie page
  • Click the "Enter Secure Area" link
  • Click the "Student" tab at the top of the page
  • Click the "Student Records" option
  • Click the "Academic Transcript" option
  • Choose the appropriate options for "Transcript Level" and "Transcript Type"
  • Your most recent GPA hours and GPA will be listed at the top of the page, under the degree(s) you are pursuing
