Course Withdrawal Policy

Undergraduate degree-seeking students who began at UNCG in fall 2014 or later will be limited to withdrawing from a maximum of 16 semester hours throughout their degree. This limitation does not include the following:

Before withdrawing from courses, students should always:

  1. Consult withdrawal deadlines, published on the University Registrar’s Office website
  2. Review UNCG’s Academic Standing Policy, as course withdrawals may have a negative impact on a student’s academic standing
  3. Review UNCG’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (for financial aid), as course withdrawals may have a negative impact on a student’s financial aid eligibility

Students are also strongly encouraged to consult their academic advisor prior to withdrawing from courses to avoid any unanticipated academic or financial consequences.
