Appointments with SFO staff are available from 9am-4pm on weekdays and can be held virtually (via Microsoft Teams) or in-person (Forney Student Success Commons, Suite 101). Appointment duration ranges from 30 minutes to one hour and is determined by the topic you wish to discuss. Please note that SFO is typically closed over the lunch hour and is not able to offer same day appointments.

Exploratory Majors and students enrolled in ARS courses
Schedule appointments with your designated advisor or coach through Starfish. Detailed instructions for scheduling through Starfish can be found here.
All other students
Contact us via phone (336-334-5730), chat, or email ([email protected]) to schedule an appointment and we will schedule you for the first available appointment.
Appointment Confirmation
Regardless of whether you schedule directly through Starfish or by contacting us, you will receive a confirmation email from Starfish with the details of your appointment. If you have chosen to schedule a virtual appointment, the link to your meeting with be included in your confirmation email.
Appointment Cancellation
If you find that you are no longer in need of your scheduled appointment or you will be unable to attend, kindly cancel your appointment through Starfish or by calling, chatting, or emailing us.
Late Policy
SFO enforces a strict 10-minute late policy. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, you will be required to reschedule (if allowed by your program). Please be sure to put your appointment on your calendar so you do not forget. Repeatedly arriving for your appointment more than 10 minutes late and/or no-showing may result in forfeiting the privilege of scheduling appointments with the Students First Office.
