Undergraduate, degree-seeking students must continually meet the requirements of the Academic Good Standing policy. Requirements are based on when you began your degree at UNCG:

Fall 2014 and Later

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00
  • Earn a minimum 67% of your semester hours each term

Prior to Fall 2014

  • For students with fewer than 30 credit hours earned: Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 1.75
  • For students with 30 or more credit hours earned: Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00

Failure to meet any of these requirements by the end of the term will result in academic warning, probation, suspension, or dismissal, which can have an additional impact on your graduation timeline, financial aid, or your ability to continue your enrollment at UNCG. Please note that the Academic Good Standing policy applies to enrollment during any term, including the summer terms. Academic performance for both summer terms is evaluated at the end of Summer Session II.

Staff in the Students First Office are available to help you create a plan to help you succeed academically and remain in academic good standing with the university

You can read more about the Academic Good Standing policy in the University Catalog.
